With the right knowledge and a little bit of research, you can find the best deals on used and refurbished injection moulding machines.
Ask the seller to view the plastic injection machine with it powered up so you can dry cycle the machine or take a mould with you to trial the machine, Taking mould with you can be little difficult unless it is a small machine.
Check around the machine for any oil leaks particulary given attention to moving parts such as closing and opening, ejector and barrel carriage cylinders.
Check the screw and barrel condition, when you cycle the machine with a mould run the machine for at least 30 minutes and check if there is any back flow under the material hopper.
If there is molten material lump evident under the material hopper then it is more likely that the screw or barrel will require attention.
Put you hand over the hydraulic pipes specially near the pump unit to check there no excessive heat present, if the pipes feel hotter than normal than the hydraulics will need attention.
Good luck.
Negotiate with seller start with your lowest budget pricing and always keep in mind your maximum price you willing to pay and don’t go over that.
